Zdenka Zika sings Aida in Slovene

Here is a recording by the Czech dramatic soprano Zdenka Zika (Zdeňka Zíková, 1902-1990), who sings Aida's famous aria 'O patria mia' from Verdi's opera of the same name. She sings it in Slovene. Zika was engaged at opera houses in Ljubljana (1922-1925), Zagreb, Prague, Belgrade and Vienna. (Interesting fact - her mother's maiden name was Krainz; so it is quite possible that her ancestors were from the Carniola region, which is called ‘Kranjska’ in Slovene and ‘Krain’ in German.)
